Dance dance!
I got into Tri-Delta! yay! Last night we formally pledged, signed a bunch of stuff, and ate some smores. yum. I also signed up for Derby Days which is a dance competition and talent show competition between the sororities and frats. So our house was assigned techno music. I'm so going to rock that.

Rush
First day: Dressed in yellow, knee high boots, lookin fine. Met at the student bone center. Met our recruitment counselor, as well as our group numba 18! I met a few nice girls in that group. Went to 6 houses. This went from about 530-11. fuck. It was long. too long. Each house you get off the bus, the president and recruitment chair come outside and welcome you to their homes. Then all of the girls are stuffed in the doorway singing and clapping their song. scary as all hell. by the way it was freezing outside and raining most days. so fun. When inside they guided you by touching your back and leading you to their "formal" room. Then they talked. I answer the same questions at least 100 times. Talked myself up though, felt pretty good. When to DZ Delta Zeta, the Easy DZ's. I sat down- immediately knowing I don't want to live there, and my foot begins to fall asleep so I figure it will just wake up when I stand up... no my entire leg falls asleep. If you don't remember I'm wearing heels. I stand up. My foot is bent to the side and the girl asks if I'm ok. I look down, smile to myself and tell her I trip. I try not to laugh as I limp down the hallway in between lines of girls singing and clapping at me. Needless to say, I didn't get asked back.
Friday: Same long day. Went to 5 houses. Found the one I want to get a bid from. Delta Delta Delta! For simplification: Tri Delt. The day was just as long. I looked good of course :) and the day ended with going to a computer lab. The task was to pick 7 out of the 11 houses you wanted to go back and visit.
Saturday: Girls arrived in their Go Greek! shirts which is what we were required to wear. I liked this everyone seemed more equal. Then our recruitment counselor pulled each of us aside to talk about who invited us back. I was invited to 6 parties. 5 of my choice. yay! the flipside scenario could have been a crying hysterical call to my mom, which is what you could find at most tables. Went to those houses for an hour- to tour and talk about their philanthropy. That night we picked 3 we wanted to get asked back to.
Sunday: We are required to wear a dress, not black, red, or white. jeez! There is meaning behind it all. I wore a black and white dress. did the poofed hair with big earrings, lookin' classy. Went to the Bone Center and waited to talk with my recruitment counselor. More girls dropped out. I got invited to 3. 2 of my choice! The houses today were more serious. There wasn't clapping and singing like usual, we were just invited in. Today was the worst day for rain and wind, ugh! I guess some girl got splashed from a car driving by the street ahhahahh! not me! They lit candles and we talked one on one with a girl instead of 3 girls interviewing us. Then they sang in a circle and we had to take a (at different houses) a pearl, gem, and flower and wish on it then give it back. Then seniors read good bye letters. quite sad.
Monday: Bid night. I'm waiting.
All in all its terrible. The process sucks. Its pretty competetive and going into it they tell you there is a slim chance you won't get a bid. LIES! Tons of girls dropped out because people didn't ask them back. Self esteems were lowered. People were fake. I just hope I picked the right house for me! I think I did and I'm pretty sure my friends would agree. I will not be a skanky ho bag. phew. I'll still be a bitch though. My apologies.

Diet Coke Cherry- new fave.
I love being done at 1 in the afternoon...except I don't decide to do my homework until 10 at night. o well! I watched Fight Club for the first time the past few days in my english class. Now we have to write a paper about the movie and the book, this should be remotely easy since I loved the movie! so thats a good thing. Rush starts today. Tonight is orientation and then tomorrow house tours begins...I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I have my first exam on Friday in Psychology! eeek! I took a pop quiz in math..if I ever commit suicide math will be reason (please don't take that part seriously). Thinking about joining the political science club... Not sure if I know enough about everything though- always seems to be one of my issues. I'm not sure any of you really care about all this crap. I think I'm going to stop writing because my fingers might fall off because its sooo cold in my room :) bye now.

God I love myself. Kidding, but seriously. I find it strange the people I miss the most from home ( yes I am reminiscing because I just looked at high school pictures online, bad idea) I think I can make a list of the people I miss: My girls- Leslie, Anna, Sam, Kili, Rachel- G masta P my boy Grant- Jared, espcially his siblings and chilling in his basemend-Dustin, weird.- my fam of course- and Hammann....I just don't understand my mind sometimes. I've been a little stressed out lately with what I want to major and minor in...give me some ideas! I'm still hooked on education based majors but minors...I'm thinking political science (you may be asking yourself right now who the hell is this girl? I know...) or journalism or sociology. fuck.

SWEAT!
Everyone keeps wondering why I sweat so much so here it is! It's much hotter here than at home, I think...and when I wake up for class in the morning its freaking cool out so I wear jeans and a tank then by the time I get out of class its a million degrees and I think its a good idea to linger and walk around outside. Thats why I'm sweaty...but its not like I'm the stinky girl. yet.

Nervous, sweaty, smelly, Brooke
Today I got to lounge around in my room till about 1 which was a relief considering how busy I've been later. At the quad today there were people dressed up in mideval (how the fuck do you spell that? Please don't comment back as to how to spell it.) outfits and were foam sword fighting..that made me nervous. wtf. seriously. anyway! I am now watching the office trying not to focus on school tomorrow wowzerz! It's tomorrow...fuck. I found out my math class is super hard- if I hate it within the first week I'm done. I hate math its merely because I suck at it. I'm excited to be here I have yet to be home sick. I mean of course I miss my friends at home, but this is quickly turning into my new home. I can't wait for people to visit. yay! I will see them this coming weekend which is pretty exciting... I guess I'll let you all know how tomorrow goes. I will get lost, I will be sweaty, I will be nervous, I will feel stupid, I will not be alone.

My first weekend
ok! so Illinois State University I believe will treat me very well to anyone who was wondering. I suppose I will tell you just what I've been up to... Thursday I moved in- which was a well it was kind of obnoxious. I had so much shit and I thought I brought too much...I didn't I actually didn't bring enough. My family lingered, which was expected. My mom surprsingly didn't bawl her eyes just welled up. phew that was a relief. I ventured up to my room and set it up the way I want. That night I was calling it home. Around 5 or so there was a huge picnic in the quad with music and tons of free food. Bridget got her picture taken with Reggie the Redbird and we found the "G spot" which is the moving health center if you will that gives out free condoms... I grabbed some flavored ones just to taste. seriously, just to taste. I came back and met my roommate! EeeeEEe!!!! I like her very much, so far. We hang out most of the day. That night we met a few guys, Collin, Darrin, and Chris and went to the hookah lounge, which was a great new experience. After we left Meesh, my roommmate, called me and took me to an apartment with some friends she knew. The next morning we had Department meetings aka boring sessions about your major...which I don't have so I went to the undecided one and let me tell you DAMN DAMN DAMN! I now have no idea what I want to do.... ugh. Theres so many opportunities and possibilities. Later we had this huge deal that "introduced" us to ISU- pretty much old guys talked about how competitive it was to get in and how smart we are and wished us success. That night Bob H. came up from U of I and we went and chilled at Ryan's apartment and met a few other people it was pretty fun. This morning I woke up around 12 ...o yeah Meesh and I both love to sleep in and she snores...YES! We ventured off to breakfast with Bridget and Bob and then she showed Bridget where all of our classes are. We passed a huge poster sale which was da bomb! I got some sweet posters for my room they completed it. After that we went to Target to buy some more food (I'm going to gain the freshmen 15 fo sho) and Dick's to get me some new kicks. We came back and finally showered and chilled in our room and around 830 went to the movie Iron Man, which was played on the football field on big screen with everyone laying around just chilling out I went to that with Chris and Bridget. We came back to my room and ate a bunch of food of course and watched Anchorman...well I wrote that in past tense we're actually doing that right now. Everything is everything...until class starts.

Der.
What the hell happened to me? I use to have to such will power, I use to be so stubborn- where the fuck did I go? I lost myself somewhere this summer. Bad decisions reoccuring. It needs to stop. I'm going to feel bad for myself.... yep. feeling bad.

Day number 3
Kili left but I was well...quite tired and under the influence this morning when she woke me up and said she was leaving. I remember saying I love you...that's it. Stupid me. Lately I've been making some terrible decisions. That needs to stop. I leave Thursday. Its finally all becoming real. Last fall when I was applying I didn't think twice about applying to any schools. My thoughts were "I just wanna get the .... out of here." Now I realized how fast the time passed by. On a better note I think I did utilize my time and skills in high school, I'm pretty sure I won't be on of those people who look back and want to redo things. I enjoyed it. I created tons of memories with friends and did Aok in school. Kili! you're gone. I drove by your house and you're gone! It's crazy. I wish the best and oh yes I do have your letter done. Don't be a stranger. Jared's going away party is tonight...tears could fall.

Day number 2
Kili leaves tomorrow. It's absolutely amazing how fast this summer went by. I can't say I regret not doing anything beacause I had a pretty satsifying time. (thats what she said) Let's review. Kicked off my summer by Justin and I breaking up. Good idea. I then left for a week to go on a mission trip to Mississippi which, as always, is completely moving and I loved every minute of it. I'm really paranoid about my grammar...I'm thinking if Grant or Leslie reads this they'll just correct all my bad mistakes, like I would do to them. There was an assortment of parties that were more than enjoyable. I experienced two outdoor concerts and they were both undeniably fun and the artists were supa hott! Leslie and I took a trip to Michigan together. Had a good time, got lsot, made a few memories. I'm gonna miss that girl. Lately I've been hanging out with different people which seems strange since everyone is leaving you think you'd cling to certain people. But that doesn't seem to be the case at all... hum. Kili leaves tomorrow. I need to write her a letter asap!

Breaking my blog virginity
Here's my first blog! I have no idea what to write. I started this so hopefully it will make it easier to keep in touch with friends and family after I leave for college ( in a week). I'm thinking maybe they'll read it...maybe not.
